Build Something
You Can Point To.
Johnson Painting Co. & More is growing across the Triad. We're looking for painters, drywall finishers, installers, and carpenters who care about clean, finished work.
What You Get On This Crew
Local Jobs, Local Homes
Every job site is in Kernersville or the surrounding Triad. No long drives, no living out of a truck.
A Small Crew, Not a Number
Johnson Painting Co. & More is owner-operated. Joel knows the crew, and the crew knows the work.
Work Through the Whole Year
Interior jobs fill the slow months. Exterior, decks, and fences pick up when the weather turns.
Room to Take On More
Show us you can skim coat, hang sheetrock, or handle trim work, and you'll take on more responsibility.

Four roles, one standard: clean work, done right the first time. Find the one that fits and apply below.
Painters
Our painters handle interior and exterior work across Kernersville and the Triad, from full-room repaints to cabinet finishes and everything in between.
What You'll Do
- Prep surfaces: patch, sand, caulk, and mask before paint goes on
- Apply paint and stain by brush, roller, and sprayer
- Match colors and finishes accurately to the job spec
- Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures on occupied job sites
- Keep tools, brushes, and sprayers clean and job-ready
What We're Looking For
- Prior painting experience, residential or commercial
- Comfortable on ladders and scaffolding
- Steady hand and an eye for a clean line
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Respectful, professional manner in customers' homes
Sheetrock Mud Skimmers
Skim coaters are the reason our walls look flawless once the paint goes on. This role is about smooth, even finish work, seam to seam.
What You'll Do
- Apply thin, even skim coats of joint compound over seams and full surfaces
- Feather and blend compound for a smooth, paint-ready finish
- Sand between coats to reach a consistent, level finish
- Fix texture mismatches and minor wall imperfections before paint
- Coordinate timing with the painting crew to keep the job moving
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with skim coating or finish-level drywall work
- An eye for smooth, uniform surfaces
- Comfortable with repetitive overhead and wall work
- Own basic hand tools a plus (knives, trowels, hawk)
Sheet Rock Installers
Installers hang and prep drywall on residential and light commercial jobs, setting up every wall and ceiling for the finish crew behind them.
What You'll Do
- Measure, cut, and hang drywall sheets on walls and ceilings
- Frame openings for outlets, switches, fixtures, and vents
- Install corner bead and tape joints ahead of finish work
- Handle removal of old or damaged drywall
- Operate lifts and basic power tools safely on site
What We're Looking For
- Experience hanging drywall in residential or commercial settings
- Comfortable lifting and maneuvering full sheets with a partner
- Basic measuring and math skills
- Own basic tools a plus (screw gun, utility knife, T-square)
Carpentry
Our carpentry crew handles the trim, wood repair, and structural fixes that make sure a surface is actually ready for paint or stain.
What You'll Do
- Repair and install trim, baseboards, casing, and molding
- Replace damaged siding, fascia, soffits, and wood features
- Handle minor wood repairs on decks, fences, and posts
- Caulk and seal wood joints for a clean, paint-ready surface
- Work cleanly around finished surfaces and coordinate with the painting crew
What We're Looking For
- Carpentry or general contracting experience
- Own hand and power tools
- Precise measuring and cutting skills
- Trim or finish carpentry experience preferred
